How to become a helper?
Hello there, we recently noticed an important number of Helper applications. Many players think that filling an application is enough to become a helper, unfortunately, it’s not the case. We don’t believe in filled papers as we prefer having a solid confirmation whether or not a player got what it takes to become a Helper. Being a Helper is not an easy task, as your duty will be to always ensure that players in need of help are getting proper assistance.
Do you think that you're a helper material?
Everything is upon you, it’s your decision to find out if you’re Helper Material or not, keep in mind that becoming a helper will shorten your playing time as you’ll be busy performing your Helper duties. Being a helper first, then a player secondly. After thinking about it many times, you may finally take a decision and summarize your thoughts about being able or not to become a Helper.
Do you have what it takes to help?
Helping over [/newb] I not the only task of a Helper, a Helper has to always be ready to assist and to give accurate instructions to any players that seek answers. Helpers should always perform many tasks at once, such as being mobilized at the Spawn Point in order to help newcomers but also by responding to the asked questions on [/newb]. A helper has also to keep an eye on the different channels to make sure that they don’t get abused. A helper does also have to respond to help requests that are received from [/helpme] and provide correct & proper assistance regarding any specific issue.
Helpers should also be fast and accurate at the same time; such qualities are essential in order to deliver quality answers combined with a shortened delay.
Helpers must always be gentle and kind while treating help requests no matter how the questioner acts.
Giving servers tours is one of the most important tasks for helpers, as it helps a lot of newcomers to feel at ease while hanging around the town and knowing different spots that might be useful.
Don’t forget that answering questions on the Technical Support section of the forum is required, a Helper shall provide assistance wherever it’s needed.
Which attitude to adopt as a helper?
We do personally pay a close attention as an important point, Helpers should be a model to every player. A contained attitude is required:
Newbies are well-known to be annoying, but not for a Helper that is naturally willing to provide assistance. Being always respectful and gently proceeding are key qualities. Not being able to adopt such behavior will lower your chances to get noticed.
Being kind and respectful is not enough to make you Helper Material, always remaining Professional & Mature are also required to become a Helper. You have to know how to condensate your answers and give good speeches without neither being too strict, neither being too kind.
A helper must not break any rules, as it will result in his termination.
A helper should always remain calm under any circumstances, avoiding arguing and always showing professionalism.
Give clear and specific answers over the [/newb] channel but also on forums.
A helper must not ask for promotions and should work until his efforts get acknowledged.
A helper must be really patient.
A helper must keep working even when there’s no Manager around, as we keep a close track of everything.
